What & Why We Collect Your Personal Data

When visitors leave a comment on our website, we collect the information provided in the comment form. We also collect the visitor’s IP address and browser details to help protect against fraud and abuse.

A hashed string generated from your email may be sent to Gravatar to check for a profile image. See Gravatar’s privacy policy at https://automattic.com/privacy.

Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to everyone.

Image Uploads — Avoid Embedding Sensitive Data

Do not include sensitive metadata (such as EXIF GPS coordinates) in images uploaded to the site. This metadata can reveal where a photo was taken and may be extracted by others.

Cookies

When you comment, you may choose to save your details in cookies for convenience. These cookies expire after one year. Login cookies last 2 days (or two weeks if “Remember me” is selected). Editing cookies expire after 24 hours.

Embedded Content
